A major event will be held in the county in February bringing together experts to debate what impact Brexit will have on the future of farming.
The event, held by land owners' association the CLA, will take place at MidKent College in Gillingham on Thursday, February 7.
The Future of Farming: Where will will be 2030? debate will include a ranger of speakers as diverse as farmers and representatives of the Vegan Society.
It will be chaired by the CLA Kent's new chairman Gary Walters.
Regional director of the CLA, Robin Edwards, said: “This debate comes at a critical time for farming in the region.
"Undoubtedly all eyes will be on Brexit over the next few months, but what will the longer-term impact be on farming and the rural economy?
“From funding to labour supply, businesses need certainty and assurances to operate and plan for the future.
“While many questions remain unanswered as we go into 2019, we remain optimistic that our vibrant and innovative sector will continue to be the lifeblood of communities in Kent, and we look forward to exploring the many challenges and opportunities at our debate.”
Speakers include Susan Twining, chief land use policy adviser at the CLA; Kevin Attwood, Kent farmer and CLA member; Will Gildea, campaigns and policy officer at The Vegan Society; Professor Mario Caccamo, managing director of NIAB EMR and head of crop bioinformatics; and representatives from event sponsors Brachers and Savills.
The event runs from 6pm to 9pm.
Tickets are free with donations to the CLA Charitable Trust. Tickets must be booked in advance from the CLA's website.
