Activity in the food and drink sector and transport industries helped a law firm increase revenues by 9.6% in the first half of the year to £8.5 million.

The growth at Thomson Snell & Passmore – based in Tunbridge Wells and Dartford – follows a year when turnover reached £16.9 million, itself an increase of more than 10%.

Chief executive Simon Slater said the firm gad seen a “marked uptick” across its six key markets, but most especially in the food and beverage and transport and logistics sectors.

He said: “On the back of a successful year last year, it is encouraging to see the pace of growth continue.

“The corporate and private client sides of our practice have seen increases in fee income, with commercial disputes, commercial property, matrimonial, clinical negligence and personal injury leading the way.

“Usually, the second half of the year is stronger for us and our pipeline shows no sign of letting up so we look forward with optimism to 2016.”
