G4S granted contract to continue to operate Medway Secure Training Centre

Medway Secure Training Centre
G4S Care and Justice Services Limited has announced it will continue to provide services at Medway Secure Training Centre for up to a further two years beyond the current contract.
The centre opened in April 1998 and was originally designed to accommodate 40 boys, aged 12-17, sentenced to periods of detention.
The centre expanded in 2002 to accommodate 76 young people, including boys and girls on remand. G4S has been operating the centre since its opening.
The agreement is for up to 23 months and follows on from the current contract, and will begin in April.
