Golfers preparing to tee off at one of the county's top golf courses can now prepare in style with the unveiling of a 'starters' cabin at Canterbury Golf Course.

The wooden structure comes complete with kitchen facilities and is positioned next to the first tee.

The building has been sponsored by property developer Pentland Homes and was designed and built by Chris Stock of Garden Rooms Kent Ltd.

At the ribbon cutting, the golf club's general manager, Roger Hyder, said: "Over the years we’ve invested heavily in the course as we strive to continually improve our facilities, offering our members an unrivalled experience.

"The new starters cabin fits in perfectly, and I look forward to seeing many of our members enjoying this new facility. It will be a perfect starting spot for competitions or for members just looking to enjoy a round.”

Sales and marketing manager at Pentland Homes, Karrina Oki, added: "We look forward to seeing members, visitors and some of our nearby homeowners enjoy the cabin and all that the wider course has to offer.”

Canterbury Golf Course, designed by course architect Harry Colt, opened for play in 1927.

The original heathland now features corridors of mature woodland, with a variety of wildlife and several areas given SSSI status by Natural England, making this one of region’s most picturesque courses.
