MANAGEMENT guru Jim McLauglin has told business people how to kick start their enterprise to greater success.
More than 70 turned up at the Hilton Hotel, Maidstone, for the county's second Barclays Kick Start Seminar.
Mr McLauglin told them: "What differentiates great businesses from people with great ideas is the ability to act quickly and decisively and focus their efforts on those activities that will provide the highest return.
"The business owner and entrepreneur is both the company's greatest opportunity and greatest constraint. The ability of the company to grow relates directly to the owner's ability to change."
He added: "Be bold and creative. The biggest risk in life is not taking a risk".
Scott Pamflett, local business manager with Barclays in Chatham, said the seminar, run in partnership with the Kent Messenger Group, was all about helping businesses to grow.
"Some people get wrapped up in the here and now and don't look beyond the first six months or a year," he said. "You need a vision and a goal."
"There was a real buzz at the event with people obviously excited at the prospect of going back to their workplace and putting what they have learned into practice."
