Customers have been left fuming and dozens of jobs have been lost after a travel firm unexpectedly crumbled into insolvency.

Buzzlines Travel, based in Lympne, near Hythe, has informed customers it has ceased trading and will be "unable to fulfil its commitments".

The firm has run coach trips, holidays and bus travel for nearly 30 years.

Its closure is likely to leave many customers fuming - while also putting more than 40 staff out of a job.

In financial figures filed last year, it revealed the firm had lost more than £3 million for the financial year ending March 2018.

"The difficult decision to cease all trading activities has become necessary to comply fully with the responsibility by law as company directors.

"Anyone who has booked to travel with Buzzlines Travel from July 1, 2019 will be contacted in due course by the appointed insolvency practitioner."
