A firm which specialises in helping the brewing industry change its traditional methods has seen its turnover almost double in the last year - as it eyes future huge expansion.
Based in Paddock Wood, Totally Natural Solutions creates natural and sustainable hop oils for the sector.
Hop oil is extracted from hop cones and provides the distinctive aroma and flavour from the plant.
However, traditional methods of extraction employed strong solvents. Now, however, the Kent firm uses a fully natural process which includes no chemicals or additives.
And the process' popularity has seen the firm's turnover rise 44% during the last 12 months - increasing from £2.7m in 2020 to £3.9m in 2021.
Now it is hoping to fuel that growth further by moving into international markets, exporting to the US and Asia, investing in a new 6,500sq ft warehouse and expanding its product range.
If all goes to plan, it hopes to generate turnover of £25m over the next three years.
Colin Wilson, the firm's managing director and founder of the company in 2013, said: “Using hop oil extracts instead of dried hops is a much more climate friendly way of brewing. It also takes up a lot less storage space, helping reduce footprint, and allows for a greater degree of experimentation, which provides brewers with an opportunity to bring new products to market and respond quickly to changing customer demands.
“We have come a long way from our initial 2,000sq ft premises back in 2013 and we still plan to exercise our business strategy to expand in line with support for other owner managed businesses.”
