Jobless figures show rise in Kent

Unemployment in Kent and Medway has risen by 147.
Across the county, 35,364 people were out of work and claiming benefit in the four weeks ending December 10.
Medway enjoyed a small drop, down by four to 7,303, but there was a rise of 151 across the rest of the county.
The county bucked the national figures, which edged down.
The quarterly unemployment figure for the UK fell by 7,000 to 2.46 million in the three months to November. The claimant count dipped by 15,200 to 1.61 million.
