CRIPPS Harries Hall, the Tunbridge Wells-based law firm, has been working with Paignton Zoo on the creation of an exciting £7.5 million environmental attraction. 'Living Coasts' will be a key feature of Torquay Harbour when it is completed next spring.

The firm has been working with the zoo since January 2001 providing advice and guidance on the building contract and on the lease from Torquay Borough Council. The exhibit will make up part of the Torquay Harbour re-generation project which has been created by Torbay Council to revitalise the heart of Torquay, its harbour and waterfront.

'Living Coasts' will be a unique, world class aquatic and animal visitor attraction focusing on the conservation of coastal and marine life around the globe. It will be designed to house the animals in an environment that imitates their natural habitat as closely as possible.

The project will be partly financed through European Regional Development funding and the South West of England Regional Development Agency, through its Private Investment Programme. Construction of the exhibit is due to start with completion planned for spring 2003.
