A major hotel in the county has got a new name after it was snapped up by new owners.

The Hilton Maidstone, just off Junction 7 of the M20, has been purchased by The Orida Group and will now be known as the Orida Hotel Maidstone. It had been on the market since November 2020.

Orida made the move as it looks to expand its portfolio of commercial properties.

It already owns the Holiday Inn Maidstone-Sevenoaks in Wrotham Heath and Park Wood Golf Club in Westerham.

The hotel's new owners say it will open a new Starbucks café this month and introducing new menus. Management of the 146-bedroom complex will be handled by Countrywide Hotels.

A spokesman for Orida Group said: "Orida Hotel Maidstone complements our existing estates of golf courses and we now look forward to developing our presence in the hotel and hospitality market further.

"We look forward to working with the existing team to further develop and grow the hotel and welcoming more of the local community back to the hotel during this exciting new phase.”
