Car seller Motorline Group is to open three new sites across the region after a record turnover last year.

The Canterbury-based company aims to open dealerships in Dartford and Medway by the end of next year, plus another in the M4 corridor.

It comes after turnover reached £335 million last year at the family-owned firm, which sells new and used cars for 10 makers including Volkswagen, Toyota and Hyundai and is the only Maserati seller in Kent.

It is not yet known which brands will be represented at the new sites or where exactly each will be.

The expansion has been driven by a spate of new openings in recent years, with the firm opening its first dealerships outside the South East in Bristol, Newport and Cardiff.

After the 136% increase in turnover last year, the company’s revenues are already up 20% in the last six month, with the firm expecting it to reach £400 million by the end of 2015.

Chairman Glen Obee said: “These new sites are another key step in our growth plans for our business.

“We are making strong progress, with high levels of interest across the region, and we look forward to these new dealerships contributing to our continued success.”

“Expansion into the Medway area alone provides a new business development opportunity and potential employment for up to 70 new staff and underlines the commitment to future development in the Kent area.”

He added: “After our record-breaking sales performance last year we are delighted that our income at the half way point in 2015 is above budget.

“These figures highlight the strength of our position in a thriving automotive industry. This is a great achievement for the group and all our employees have played a huge part in achieving this.

“The challenge now is to maintain this momentum through on-going investment and innovation to ensure we continue to provide the best service and value in motoring.”
