We can all dine in comfort indoors again, but Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve's newest restaurant also brings the outside in.
The Garden Room is situated within the Grade II-listed mansion’s historic stable yard, built for original owner Sir Philip Sassoon.
It is the first on the Hythe site open to guests who are not visiting the popular wild animal park or staying in its award-winning accommodation.
The Garden Room’s light and airy interior, designed by creative director Victoria Aspinall, features a vaulted glass ceiling, mirrored garden walls and elegant brass lanterns creating a tranquil Mediterranean garden ambience.
To ensure guests are dining in style, the enticing menu, designed and carefully curated by executive chef Lee Edney features only the freshest and best local seasonal ingredients.
Dishes include slow-cooked Romney Marsh lamb shoulder with pea and courgette pearl barley risotto, Valrhona chocolate brownie with chocolate mousse and cobnut ice cream and glazed scallops with miso, celeriac purée, apple and chorizo.
The extensive drinks menu features zestful botanical cocktails and locally-produced fine wines and ales.
The Garden Room is open for evening dining, afternoon tea and Sunday brunch reservations seven days a week. Diners who book a table for Sunday brunch or afternoon tea will also have complimentary access to the reserve, with time to explore its 15 acres of landscaped gardens, coastal views as well as see the rare and endangered species before dining.
To book a reservation, call 01303 234173 or fill in an online reservation request at aspinallfoundation.org/garden-room/
