A webinar takes place later this week to help small firms in the county bid for grant funding.

The Kent and Medway Federation of Small Businesses hope the event will assist firms bid for grants of between £500 and £2,000 from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) which go live next Monday.

The webinar will help guide firms into securing funding

David Taylor from WSX Enterprise, who have been contracted by SELEP to deliver the grants, will brief on the ‘Adapting with Digital’ programme, and explain how businesses can apply for the grants.

To be eligible, applicants must complete three hours of support from either the Adapting with Digital or Starting & Succeeding in Business programme and book a one-to-one support session. Businesses will also need to explain how the grant will be a solution to the impact of Covid-19 on their business.

He explained: "At a time when many businesses are either struggling with technology or keen to adapt to today’s rapidly changing world, these two fantastic programmes being offered by the South East LEP should make a real and lasting impact. And they are completely free.”

Adds Tim Aker, development manager for the Kent and Medway FSB: “As government support tails off, this is an opportunity for SMEs to get some new funding. David is an engaging and passionate speaker and will cut through the jargon and explain how to access these vital grants.”
