Le Shuttle freight traffic hits record high for May

Freight traffic using the Le Shuttle service recording the best May figures in its history.
In details released today, GetLink - formerly Groupe Eurotunnel - says traffic growth had risen to 143,924, a rise of 2% compared to May 2017.
The service links Folkestone with Coquelles, near Calais.
Since January 1, 2018, truck traffic is up by 3% with more than 703,000 trucks transported - a new record for the first five months of the year.
Passenger traffic also saw a rise of 8% compared to the same time last year with 230,724 passenger vehicles transported.
Since the start of January 2018, more than 950,000 passenger vehicles have crossed with Le Shuttle.
