A recruitment firm has changed its name.

Select Appointments, Middle Row, Maidstone, has been re-branded as Randstad following a takeover of Select’s previous owner Vedior.

Randstad Maidstone becomes part of the world’s second largest recruitment company.

Randstad provides candidates with career advice and temporary and permanent employment opportunities. It works in many business sectors, including secretarial and administration, contact centre, accountancy and finance, sales and marketing, legal, and medical.

With jobless figures rising across the county, branch manager Shirley Moriarty said she and her team were excited about the opportunities for the Maidstone business.

"Clearly, given the economic climate, the employment market is tighter than a year ago," she said. "However we have a good range of temporary and permanent job opportunities, particularly for secretarial, and administrative, sales and marketing, finance and legal roles within local corporate commercial businesses and the public sector."

Diane Martyn, Randstad’s CEO, added: "Across the UK and Ireland, the integration and rebranding has been very successful; culturally, the two organisations make a great fit, and the feedback from candidates and clients has been very positive. Looking to the future, we have ambitious plans for growth."

Luton-based Randstad UK employs more than 1,000 people in 200 branches and in-house locations nationwide.

Randstad has its global HQ in Amsterdam. Founded more than 48 years ago, it employs more than 34,000 people in 5,300 offices in 53 countries, and provides jobs for some 700,000 people every day.

Both Randstad and Select have been ranked in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For list.
