Sex shops king takes on planners

THE millionaire owner of the Ann Summers chain of sex shops will challenge Tunbridge Wells Borough Council next month over enforcement orders relating to changes he has made at his Lamberhurst mansion home without planning permission. Ralph Gold is appealing against four enforcement orders imposed by the council relating to building a toilet block, fishing boat store, entrance gates and garden shelter at his property.

It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in a Special Landscape Area and the gardens are designated by English Heritage as being of Special Historic Interest. The public inquiry will be held at Tunbridge Wells Town Hall starting at 10am on Wednesday, May 8 , and is expected to last 10 days.
