The company behind Arm & Hammer Toothpaste has also nailed sales of its nasal spray brand.

Church & Dwight, which is based in Folkestone, saw its 100 millionth bottle of Stérimar come off the production line this month.

The sea water nasal spray – which is used for ear, nose and throat disorders – is one of many brands made by the personal care company, including Batiste dry shampoo and Pearl Drops tooth polish.

Managing director Britta Bomhard said: “We are constantly overwhelmed by the feedback we get on this product in particular from both healthcare professionals and families.

“Although it is not as well known as some of the other products we manufacture, it can be life changing to some of the people who use it to relieve and manage on-going conditions.

“We are not only incredibly proud of the success of this brand but are also incredible proud that this growth has built so much momentum from our factory and office here in Folkestone.”

Originally created in 1970s, the product manufacturing process and international shipping moved to Folkestone in 1997, from where it is shipped to 87 countries.
