The Boathouse: Pictures inside the Yalding pub following £1.3m improvements

A pub has reopened following a £1.3 million refurbishment.

The Boathouse in Yalding has undergone an extensive overhaul - including changing its name from The Anchor.

The Shepherd Neame pub now has a glass fronted restaurant and a raised exterior terrace leadiing on to a large decked area for al fresco dining.

An extensive internal and external refurbishment has been carried out, with new nautically-themed décor.

A new snug area has also been created, offering private dining for up to 12 people.

The car park at the venue has also been expanded to now offer space for 24 vehicles, as well as the provision of a number of boat moorings and a kayak store.

Two managers and 20 full and part-time staff were recruited to run the venue.

Director of retail and tenanted operations Nigel Bunting said: “We are delighted to unveil this exciting new development. The Boathouse boasts an enviable waterfront setting, and we are confident that it will prove a popular destination in which to drink and dine.”
