MegaGrowth 50 2015: Reliable Contractors in Margate named fastest-growing private company in Kent

A recruitment firm for the construction sector has been named the fastest-growing company in Kent after rapid growth kick started by the Olympic Games.
Reliable Contractors, based in Margate, was named the top performing company in this year’s MegaGrowth 50, published by the KM Group.
The list, now in its 14th year, reveals which firms have grown most quickly across the county according to their increase in turnover in the last four years.

Reliable Contractors took the top spot after increasing revenues by 492.1% after supplying engineers for the construction of the Olympic Park and now for Crossrail.
Director Brian Greene said: "It's a great achievement and all credit goes to the staff.
"We have done really well over the last few years and become one of the industry leaders. It's great that we're being recognised in Kent.
“In this country, we have been fortunate to have the two biggest infrastructure projects in Europe in quick succession – the Olympic Park and Crossrail.
“A lot of businesses are coming to this country from Spain, France, Germany and now China trying to tender for work. It’s the place to be.”
Second in the MegaGrowth 50 list 2015 was last year’s winner Chartway Group, based in Maidstone.
The house builder increased revenue by 299% according to accounts filed to Companies House.
Third place was taken by a firm which submitted its accounts to the KM Group for consideration in the list.

Ashford-based tax return business RIFT Group took the bronze medal after increasing turnover by 255.3%.
MegaGrowth 50 also has a table highlighting Kent firms which have expanded in the exports market.
For the second year running the top performing company was Detling-based Highway Care, which makes and distributes crash barriers and other road safety equipment.
The company actually increased its winning margin to 7,019.8% after winning with a huge 4,303.3% growth in 2014.
“We’re always trying to improve our products,” said head of engineering Adrian Bullock. “Our development work often includes crash testing products and ensuring it’s easy to use.”
