Two-thirds of a major new housing development will be affordable homes, says the group behind the scheme.
Clarion Housing Group has secured a trio of new sites in Kings Hill with planning permission for 166 homes.
The UK’s largest social landlord bought the 8.5 acre sites in Kings Hill last month from Rouse Kent Residential, a joint venture between Kent County Council and investor developers Liberty Property Trust.
The scheme has 24 social rent homes, 54 affordable rent homes, 34 shared ownership homes and 54 private sale homes. These include a mix of one-and two-bedroom flats and two-, three-and four-bedroom houses.
Jenner Contractors has been appointed to build the homes and work on site is already under way.
The first phase of the development will be completed by late 2020.
Jane Harrison, director at the Liberty Property Trust said: “We are delighted Kings Hill continues to provide a quality location to help satisfy local housing needs.”
The firm is also behind the 300-home scheme at Conningbrook Lakes in Ashford.
