Work has begun on the construction of a new factory and headquarters for a leading firm.
A ground breaking ceremony was held in Dover as electrical testing products firm Megger looks to enhance its facilities in the town.
Senior representatives of Megger and Canterbury-based Clague Architects, were joined by Cllr Sue Chandler, chairman of Dover District Council, at the site of the multi-million pound investment.
Based in Dover since the 1960s, the company today employs 260 highly skilled staff in the design, development, manufacture and commercialisation of electrical testing equipment at its Channel View Road factory and HQ buildings.
Graham Heritage, MD at Megger’s Dover site, said: “The start of construction is a significant milestone and I’m tremendously proud of both the dedication and enthusiasm of our staff and the exemplary support and encouragement from Dover council which is helping us to deliver a world-class site.”
The new investment will help the company to recruit and retain key talent as it continues to grow.
