A KENT firm of architects have leapt up the list of the UK's 100 top architecture firms, according to the annual survey of the profession compiled by a leading industry magazine.
Purcell Miller Tritton, which has an office in Canterbury, rose from 84th position last year to 54th in 2005 in the AJ100, published by Architects' Journal.
The firm merged with fellow conservation practice Martin Stancliffe Associates of York at the end of 2004 and has since emerged as one of the largest practices specialising in the care of historic buildings.
Purcell Miller Tritton is responsible for the £5million Cobham Park restoration scheme, projects for the Dean & Chapter at Canterbury Cathedral together with work to refurbish and extend Mary Bredin Church in Canterbury.
Partner Andrew Clark said: "Purcell Miller Tritton is now one of the largest practices of conservation architects in the country. We are pleased to have moved up the list of major players in UK architecture.
"Last year’s merger was a carefully managed expansion which has added to the expertise we can offer in the conservation, repair and re-use of historic buildings."
