A charitable bank’s chief operating officer has been honoured at the Institute of Directors’ London and the South Director of the Year Awards.
Dina Henry was named Director of the Year in the public or third sector for her work at CAF Bank, based in Kings Hill.
Owned by the Charities Aid Foundation, the institution advises charities and not-for-profit organisations.
Profits are gifted to CAF to keep the money in the charitable sector.
Mrs Henry picked up her award at a ceremony at the Institute of Directors headquarters in Pall Mall, London, attended by nearly 200 fellow finalists and guests on Thursday, April 28.
She said she felt “extremely honoured” and was “truly privileged to work for an amazing organization in the third sector”.
Mrs Henry previously spent 32 happy years at private bank Duncan Lawrie, where she was regional director for Kent and the South East from its office in Sevenoaks, managing the personal fortunes of some of Britain’s richest people.
She joined CAF Bank in 2014 after being approached by chief executive Peter Ostacchin.
Mrs Henry said: “By raising CAF Bank’s profile to other sectors through the IoD, it has also allowed me to highlight how philanthropy can shape the way we live, enabling me to showcase the important contribution from CAF Bank in providing service and support to professionals in civil society.
“During an association lasting 10 years, I have benefitted from being part of the IoD that does so much to assist businesses, not least the many networking opportunities this has provided me with.”
