Shepherd Neame launches pizza wagon as Little Tom hits the streets

Shepherd Neame has added another string to its bow after launching its first touring pizza wagon to serve grub outside its pubs.

The Faversham brewer hopes the wagon - which it has nicknamed Little Tom because of its tomato-red colour - will prove a hit.

Having started its travels over the weekend outside the Ship and Trades in Chatham Maritime, this weekend will see it in operation in Faversham for the town’s annual Hop Festival where it will be serving up sourdough pizzas and doughballs outside The Limes pub in Preston Street.

It comes just a week after the company announced it has teamed up with Staplehurst’s Balfour Winery to launch its own English wine to serve at its pubs and hotels.

Shepherd Neame’s head of food, Sang Nguyen, said: “Pizza is always a popular choice with our customers, and now the Little Tom pizza wagon can allow us to offer fresh, handmade pizzas at any of our pubs and hotels.

“We have seen a great reaction to the wagon, which is a real talking point wherever it goes.”
