A NEW degree offering the chance to gain practical business skills is proving popular at Imperial College at Wye, near Ashford.
The BSc Honours degree in Applied Business Management is aimed at students who are interested in a business qualification, but recognises the importance of the wider environment in which modern companies must operate.
The degree combines business management disciplines, from marketing to law, with applied natural sciences such as man's impact on the environment and the food supply chain.
For students wishing to take their studies further, a fourth year focusing on advanced management techniques offers the chance to acquire a Master of Science degree. A linked honours degree, Applied Business Management, with a year in industry, enables students to put their learning into practice by working in business in the UK or overseas.
Nigel Williams, admissions officer at Wye said: "The course should provide students with a sound interdisciplinary education ensuring first class prospects in business-related and many other careers."
The Applied Business Management degree is open to students who have gained 260 points at A level or hold equivalent international qualifications. Scholarships worth up to £1,500 each are available to the brightest applicants.
Those interested should contact the teaching office, Wye Campus on 020 7 594 2754 for an information pack or to arrange a visit.
