The White House care home on Maidstone Road, Chatham, is sold

A care home which has operated under the same owners for 36 years has been sold.

The White House residential care home on Maidstone Road, Chatham, has been operating since 1988 but owners Christos and Lynn Nicolaou decided to put it on the market as part of their retirement.

It is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to care for 38 elderly residents with dementia. At its last inspection in 2022, it was graded as ‘good’.

Now it has been purchased by Sibi and Shaina Kumar who operate Curant Care - a specialist home care company with outlets across Kent.

Originally a detached property, it was extended in 2011 following the purchase of two neighbouring properties.

The deal - for an undisclosed sum - was completed through property firm Christie & Co.

John Harrison, director of care at Christie & Co, said: “This is a great acquisition for Sibi and Shaina who I am sure will be able to expand the business further using their considerable experience in the care sector. This sale demonstrates the strong demand we are seeing for care homes in Kent.”
