Fame Academy's David Grant is coming to Kent to help enterprising young people find a job.
The television star and business coach will be a key speaker at the Kent 2020 Vision expo at the County Showground, Detling, on Thursday April 22.
Construction firm Skanska is sponsoring the "Bright Young Things" workshop at which Grant will help Kent businesses find out how to offer opportunities to young people and boost their enterprise at the same time.
The workshop will also brief firms on the current employment climate for youngsters and their preparation for the world of work.
It will also include a discussion with Sue Dunn, head of Kent County Council's Innovation Unit, on the benefits enterprising young people can bring to the Kent economy.
Terry Mitchell, Skanska's project director, said: "We're committed to helping support Kent's young people to find their place in the world of work. We already provide business advisors and sponsor the Kent Young Entrepreneur KEiBA (Kent Excellence in Business Award). We hope local business colleagues will be encouraged by what they see and hear at this workshop."
Grant is a keen supporter of young people and an ambassador for UK Skills, the organisation that champions skills and learning for work.
He and his wife Carrie are among the best known pop vocal coaches in the UK. Their involvement with Fame Academy brought them to national attention, but they were already working with celebrity clients such as Take That, Melanie C, Lemar and Will Young.
Grant is also sought after as a speaker on senior business management training courses and has worked for the Foreign Office, Barings Bank, The Body Shop, Orange, and Express Newspapers. He and Skanska have worked on numerous projects over the past 10 years.
Other celebrities attending Kent 2020 Vision include James Caan, of TV's Dragons' Den, Nick Hewer, Sir Alan Sugar's right-hand man in The Apprentice television show, and Jo Salter, Britain's first woman fast jet pilot. Admission to the show is free but fast-track entry can be obtained by visiting www.kent2020.co.uk
