Law firm Cripps has appointed its first female senior partner.
Commercial real estate specialist Clare Hyland will take up her new role at the Tunbridge Wells-based practice in May.
She succeeds Michael Stevens, who will remain as a consultant with the business, which increased turnover 9% in the six months to October to £13.4 million.
In 1997 she became a partner at the firm, which also has practices in Kings Hill and Sandwich, and headed its real estate division for 10 years.
Graduating in law from the University of Hull, she qualified in 1990 and enjoys fell walking, skiing, music and travel.
Ms Hyland, who lives in Tunbridge Wells, said: “We have seen strong growth in recent years and I want to ensure we maintain our momentum and remain a progressive firm that is 100 per cent focused on the needs of our clients.
“I also passionately believe our people are our greatest asset – it’s their expertise and dedication that mean our clients get where they need to be. And our regional and national reputation is testament to this.”
Managing partner Gavin Tyler said: “Michael’s commitment and creative leadership has been hugely instrumental in the success of our business to date.
“This is an exciting time in the history of Cripps and I am delighted Clare has the opportunity to bring new perspectives to help shape the firm’s future and drive its continued development.”
