IT IS simple idea but it seems Patricia Wilson of Beacon Walk, Tenterden, is the only one to have thought of it certainly in the South East.

She was inspired by something that can be found in many homes the clutter of unmounted snaps and has made a commercial venture of it.

She said: "This is a home-grown business idea because I wanted to make the best use of the hundreds of snapshots that I had stuffed in boxes and drawers.

"There were images of my children growing up, parties, holiday snaps, wedding pictures and so on.

"I had some lovely pictures but nobody ever looked at them so I started to make collages displaying them in clip frames on the walls in my house.

"Each one provides a host of memories and is greatly admired by visitors which is what first gave me the idea.

"I thought that there must be a gap in the market for this sort of service and since I've started the business, I'm delighted with the interest orders are flowing."

The collages, once assembled, can be colour copied to provide extra prints if necessary, to make great original gifts.

"I've done a 70th birthday and a 25th wedding anniversary and it adds an extra dimension to the occasion.

"To do the collages you need a good eye for design and patience, and some of the most fun to do are children growing up from babies to teenagers."
