STUDENTS in part of Kent will soon have access to one of the best education campuses in the country, according to a college head.
Bill Fearon, principal of West Kent College, Tonbridge, was speaking after the announcement that the college, in Brook Street, is to be demolished and replaced with a modern building.
The college currently comprises 11 buildings from the 1960s and 1970s which are reaching the end of their useful life. The £60million project called Campus 21 will see them replaced by one college building.
Mr Fearon said: "We feel it's important that the people of West Kent have access to educational facilities that are among the best in the country.
"Much of the current campus is over 40 years old, and this exciting development will enable us to invest in new buildings, modernise and move forward."
