A construction company has extended its technology partnership with the McLaren Group for a third time.
The Wrotham-based Lucas Group first teamed up with McLaren - which includes the McLaren F1 team - when it completed a series of fit out and finishing packages at the McLaren Production Centre for its high performance vehicles in Woking.
The centre was opened in 2011 by then Prime Minister David Cameron and has since produced more than 15,000 McLaren Automotive road cars.
Since then, Lucas has completed a series of projects across the McLaren campus, including the state-of-the-art Thought Leadership Centre which opened in 2015.
The partnership enables Lucas to show clients its work in situ, with exclusive tours of the McLaren campus and has also seen Lucas build its own laboratory facilities and the new Lucas Technology Centre, developing bespoke apps to advance the way it monitors construction projects.
Jonathan Neale, COO of McLaren Group said: “Lucas has proven time and time again their ability to work at the highest level. Their unparalleled attention to detail has enabled us to create and maintain our impressive corporate facility. We’re delighted to be working with them for a further three years.”
Danny Lucas, executive chairman and managing director of Lucas said: “Working closely with McLaren has been truly inspirational. It drives our exploitation of new technology right across our business, helping us provide the best possible services in fit out and finishing for our clients.”
Mr Lucas won the Entrepreneur of the Year and Lucas the Large Business of the Year award at the recent Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA), staged by the KM Media Group and Kent County Council.
