Construction firm the Chartway Group has appointed a new chief operating officer (COO).

The Coxheath-based firm has hired Steven Cresswell who joins the firm after holding a similar role with the residential developers the Thakeham Group in West Sussex.

Ian Savage, Chartway Group CEO, said: “This appointment comes at an exciting time for our group, having enjoyed continued growth in our homes and partnerships businesses which also benefits the wider group companies within our integrated delivery offering, providing significant expertise and quality to our customers."

The Chartway Group comprises of a number of companies which include Westerhill Homes, Chartway Civil Engineering, BBS Construction and Swale Building Supplies.

Adds the CEO: "The role of COO will be responsible for delivering the next phase of our growth strategy, creating our group vision, and leading each of our group businesses in line with our forward business plan. Steve brings with him significant leadership experience from large main contractors to residential developers, and we are excited to welcome Steve to the board.”
