The countdown is on for the return of the Kent Construction Expo next month - a specialist event catering for the county’s biggest single business sector.
The event will gather senior stakeholders in the industry to discuss the latest developments and challenges. It takes place at the Kent Event Centre in Detling on Thursday, October 3.
Organised by the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and staged by Tunbridge Wells-based Revolution Events, a key topic will be the new requirements for the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) and Procurement Act 2023 - with experts on hand to provide insight.
The event will kick off with a session featuring representatives from Kent County Council and Gravesham and Ashford councils regarding new opportunities for developers, contractors and local businesses about strategic plans for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the county.
Tudor Price, CEO of Kent Invicta Chamber, said: “The Kent Construction Expo is far more than a conference and exhibition. We want to help build new relationships and strengthen supply chains between Kent’s developers and contractors in the public and private sectors, as well as support the next-generation workforce.
“We aim to be the conduit for the high-standard, sustainable and much-needed construction projects, that will support the success of our county for generations.”
Another piece of significant legislation is the Procurement Act 2024 which comes into force in October. David Smith from the South East Consortium will provide an overview of the act and consider the challenges and opportunities it will present to suppliers.
Tickets for main event are free and registration is now open.
The event concludes with a gala dinner - featuring guest speakers and international rugby legends Joe Marler and Ben Kayser and comes at additional cost.
