AN APPLICATION for costs against a former Kent Messenger Group employee who lost her claim for unfair dismissal has been withdrawn at a hearing.
Amanda Fisher, a former feature writer with the group who on one occasion received a dead mouse in the post, had sought reinstatement.
But after a 17-day hearing last year, Ashford Employment Tribunal dismissed the case. Ms Fisher, of Selling, near Faversham, launched an appeal against the ruling which was also dismissed.
The company had applied to the tribunal for costs of around £75,000 but the application was withdrawn during a hearing at Ashford on January 25.
A KMG spokesman said: "Due to a legal technicality, the request for costs incurred during the Kent Messenger Group’s successful defence of Amanda Fisher’s claims at the employment tribunal were withdrawn. However, the company may still continue to seek compensation."
