Kent County Council's stand-alone legal company has appointed a new chief executive.
Guy Record has been interim CEO of Invicta Law since April following the departure of Geoff Wild.
Mr Wild had spearheaded the creation of the company but quit amid concerns it was not generating sufficient business.
Mr Record joined the company when it was formed in August 2016 as a non-executive director.
He heads up a team of more than 100 lawyers with expertise in supporting public sector organisations.
Mr Record said: "Most of our clients are other local authorities, public sector organisations and blue light services, and there are great opportunities to expand those relationships.”
Previously, he was a strategic adviser to Kent County Council and played a large role in improving the efficiency of the authority’s trading services.
He started his career as a management consultant with Coopers and Lybrand, and subsequently held leadership positions in a number of private sector organisations, including Sainsbury’s, BT, Zurich Financial Services and ACE Insurance.
