FUTURE Sir Alan Sugars and Dame Anita Roddicks can learn the tricks of the trade at a day of events to inspire their business minds.

On Tuesday, November 13, school and college pupils from across Medway will be able to get professional advice on how to get ahead in business at Rochester’s Corn Exchange.

The Mind Your Own Business event has been organised by Medway Council’s Economic Development team will offer workshops, advice from small businesses and tips on how to see their business idea transform into a thriving money maker.

Representatives from 10 businesses, including the Prince’s Trust, will be on hand to raise awareness of enterprise and business. Young people who set up their own businesses last year will also tell the visitors about their own experiences.

Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development Cllr Jane Chitty, said: "Young people need to be introduced to the possibilities of starting their own businesses and this offers them the chance to learn the tricks of the trade and how to make it in the business world."

The event takes place from 9.30am to 4pm, and is being sponsored by Medway Enterprise Gateway; Medway Education Business Partnership Partnership; CX; and Medway Council and is part sponsored by the European Union.

The event forms part of National Enterprise Week, which takes place from Monday, 12 to Friday, 16 November.
