A car dealership has cut the ribbon on a new £1 million showroom - creating 40 new jobs in the process.
The family-run Hendy Group has opened the site in Tudeley Lane, Tonbridge. It will display new and used Vauxhall and Peugeot vehicles, as we as house a state-of-the-art servicing facility.
It brings the total number of Hendy’s across the South of England to 80. The site was opened on a limited basis in April but is now fully operational.
Paul Hendy, the group’s chief executive, said: “It’s been great to see the transformation of the site.
“This latest opening underlines our commitment to Kent, and we look forward to building our presence in the local area through the creation of many new employment opportunities.
Last year the group had a turnover of more than £1.2bn and employs more than 1,700 people nationally.
The showroom is also providing a free drop-off parking facility for parents at nearby Bishop Chavasse Primary School as well as a ‘walking bus’ to safety get pupils to the school gates. It will start in September 2024.
