Cement mixers will soon begin to churn on the site of an £11 million college after a deal was signed with a building firm.
BAM Construction has been appointed to start enabling workes for a teaching block, including a refectory, labs, hair and beauty salon and an art and media studio.
The 4,685sq m building will also have a link to a future construction and technology block, to be developed at a later date.
The campus will be able to cater for more than 700 students studying for skills in the manufacturing, construction and service sectors.
Demolition has begun and works are due to complete in October next year.
BAM Construction has also developed three academies in Medway, and two colleges for North West Kent College, as well as the prestigious Royal Military School in Dover.
It also built the events centre at Bluewater and worked on the Leigh UTC in Dartford.
