A DESIGNER from Kent is in with a chance of winning her dream job.

Olivia Maclean, of Waterloo Road, Gillingham, has won a place in the final of a competition that could launch her career as a fashion buyer with retailer TK Maxx.

The 34-year-old will have to prove she has an eye for fashion and brilliant negotiation skills if she is to be crowned winner of the contest, organised by TK Maxx and Elle magazine.

Olivia has already beaten off tough competition to make it to the second round but she will have to impress a panel of judges with a presentation to secure victory.

The winner will be offered six months' paid work experience with TK Maxx as well as the chance to put together a fashion guide with writers at Elle magazine.

As a former fashion design student at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Rochester, Olivia is quietly confident she has what it takes to impress judges during presentations, interviews and group projects.

She said: "I have always wanted to be a fashion buyer and am quite confident about giving the presentation.

"I have had to research what competition the TK Maxx has in terms of supplying underwear.

"I have worked hard on it and hope the judges will be impressed with what I have put together."
