Director accepts four year ban

Langton GreenA DIRECTOR of a shopfitters' business that failed with debts estimated at around £250,000 has given an undertaking not to hold directorships or to take any part in company management for four years. Trevor Raymond Streeter, of Dornden Drive, Langton Green, was a director of M & B Shopfitting Services Ltd, which conducted business from premises at Ford Airfield Industrial Estate near Arundel, West Sussex.

The acceptance of the undertaking on March 8 prevents Mr Streeter from being a director of a company or, in any way, whether directly or indirectly, being concerned or taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company for the next four years. The company was placed into voluntary liquidation on March 9, 2000, with estimated debts of £242,264 owed to creditors.

Matters of unfit condduct, not disputed by Mr Streeter, included: causing the company to commence trading from May 17, 1999 to February 7, 2000 to the detriment of creditors, including the Inland Revenue for PAYE (Pay As You Earn) and NIC (National Insurance Contribution), and HM Customs and Excise for VAT, culminating in an estimated total deficiency to members of £240,764.
