Sue was 72 years old when she had two separate knee replacement surgeries at KIMS Hospital.

Before her surgery, she was living with constant pain and unable to maintain her active lifestyle.

.

After being referred by her GP, she visited an orthopaedic consultant at KIMS Hospital, who recommended that she’d need both knees to be replaced. She decided to have her left knee replacement surgery first, followed by the right knee six months later.

Sue says, “I haven't looked back since. I do three days a week at the gym. I swim with my daughter, and my life is back to what it was before. I thought I’d always have to live in pain, but now I can carry on with my life.”

Sue shares how she got her life back and the warm and welcoming environment at KIMS Hospital.

With prompt follow-up appointments, Sue received excellent care and support. She also attended regular Physiotherapy sessions to aid long-term strength and mobility in her knees.

Sue’s progress was remarkable, quickly reaching a point where she no longer needed her Nordic poles and she has since embraced a life free from walking aids.

.

Now, she happily takes part in a variety of activities, including three gym sessions a week. At the age of 72, Sue is thrilled to have her active and fulfilling life back.
