One of the largest independent suppliers of water coolers and bottled water in the country has expanded with a takeover.

Edgar’s Water, based in Marden, has acquired Buckinghamshire firm the Pura Water Company for an undisclosed sum.

The business delivers water coolers and boilers across the South East.

The company also delivers fruit to schools and offices under the Edgar’s Fruit brand and also has a coffee machine division.

It increased turnover by 6% to £7.8 million in the year to the end of March 2015, with profits flat at £475,000, according to its latest available accounts.

Corporate finance advisors Mackenzie Spencer helped complete the deal.
