Truck traffic through the Channel Tunnel ended the year at an all-time high.

Operator Eurotunnel recorded more than 1.64 million vehicles through the route last year, up 11% on 2015.

December was also the 14th straight month where the Folkestone to Coquelles tunnel carried record truck traffic.

Passenger shuttle traffic grew by 2% last year, with 2.66 million vehicles transported.
