Eurotunnel's latest figures reveal it felt no impact from the coronavirus outbreak during February - but that that the influence of Brexit was being felt year-on-year.
Its parent company, Getlink, said freight using its Le Shuttle service between Folkestone and Coquelles was down 7% on the same period in 2019.
But it put that down to last year seeing the "stockpiling phenomenon" in anticipation of Brexit last March.
It brings the total number of trucks using the cross-Channel route this year to 260,000.
Passenger traffic, however, saw a 4% increase in February - delivering a 3% rise in traffic so far this year with some 350,000 passenger vehicles using the service.
It added: "No impact from Covid-19 has been identified at this stage."
