Landowners and farmers in the county are set to attend a special event next month where experts will advise them on tax savings they can make.
Organised by the Ashford-based tax advice specialists the Rift Group, the invite-only event, will take place at Eastwell Manor on February 3.
A key topic will be discussing the government's research and development tax credits scheme which is designed to reward those who are solving problems and sharing their solutions for the wider benefit.
When money is spent on a project that qualifies, the government can issue a cash reward or a reduction in corporation tax.
For the year ending March 2020, some £7.4billion was claimed.
Now Rift is focusing on the agriculture and horticulture sectors in the county to ensure it is taking advantage of the scheme.
Katy O’Neill, partnerships director at the firm, explained: “From wine and beer production to 'agri' technology and pure invention, Kent’s land industries are always trying new things. We work with them and their accountants to get them the financial benefit they deserve.”
Adds the advisors' founder, Jan Post: "Far too many individuals and businesses are missing out on the money they're owed by HMRC. Some of them find the rules and systems too daunting and complicated. Others simply don't know that they qualify.”
Speakers at the event include Professor Allan Buckwell, from the institute of European Environmental Policy,
