The county's oldest farm machinery supplier is to mark its centenary by unveiling a special edition tractor at a major agricultural event next month.
Haynes Agricultural, which has depots in Wrotham, Birchington and Great Chart, near Ashford, sold its first tractor, a Fordson Model F, in August 1919.
Now, 100 years later, it will mark its centenary at the Farm Expo event which takes place at the Kent Showground in Detling on Wednesday, March 6.
Adrian Woods, operations director of Haynes Agricultural, said: “It’s amazing to think we’re in our centenary year. We’re determined to make it a good one.
“We’ve already got lots of things planned, kicking off at Farm Expo when we unveil the special edition tractor.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing the reaction of the crowds."
Farm Expo is a new farm machinery, supplies and services show.
Among a host of exhibitors, there will be keynote speakers from the industry.
It has been organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society and aims to become the biggest farm machinery, supplies, and services event in the south east.
James Forknall, chairman of the Kent County Agricultural Society, said: "It’s taken a lot of work to get to this stage, but we’re almost there.
“We’ve got some fantastic speakers who will be tackling the thorny topics of Brexit and the Agriculture Bill, and a huge range of local suppliers and businesses supporting the event.
“With so much going on, this will be a great opportunity to see the latest developments and updates in the industry.”
