The co-owner of Tunbridge Wells-based Grovewood Wealth Management has been named Financial Advisor of the Year in the South East at the 2020 Women in Financial Advice Awards.

Lynne Gadsden picked up the award at the annual event hosted by financial advice website Professional Adviser.

This year's event was staged virtually as a result on the on-going pandemic.

The judges said they enjoyed her "positive attitude towards the industry and her clients' well-being".

Speaking after the event, Mrs Gadsden said: "It’s a huge acknowledgement of the nearly 30 years I have spent helping my clients and their families but this is particularly special as it is about encouraging women to enter this wonderful industry and the part I have played in that.”

A chartered financial planner and fellow of the CII, the highest qualification in the industry, she runs the firm with husband Michael.

A well-known figure in the county, Mrs Gadsden was president of the West Kent Chamber of Commerce before it ceased trading this summer.
