A company has splashed out more than £1 million on a giant new crane.
Headcorn-based Thanet Crane Hire says the 150-tonne vehicle is “the best in its class” and will head up its fleet.
The company shelled out £1.1m on the Grove GMK 5150XL which also has reduced emissions.
Jack Stickings, operations director at the firm said; “We are continually upgrading our cranes and HGVs to offer cleaner and greener options.
“This new 150-tonne crane is the largest in our fleet and at a cost of £1.1m represents a major investment in the future of our growing business.”
Thanet Crane Hire, which employs 25 people and founded in 2008, has expanded as its fleet grows to a satellite depot in Herne Bay and is currently looking for another site in the Ashford area.
