Two insurers have teamed up to give a financial premium to Maidstone United Football Club.
The Civil Service Insurance Society, founded in 1890 and based in the County Town since 2001, has been making donations to the club for several years.
It has now chosen Zurich as the sole provider of car insurance to its 30,000 customers, a deal that it expects to expand giving to the club’s deaf and disabled teams.
Kevin Holliday, chief executive of the CSIS (pictured right), a not-for-profit organisation that provides cover to past and present members of the Civil Service and other public sector bodies, said: “We were impressed by Zurich’s enthusiasm for our business model and their desire to help us grow our market share.”
Ian McManus, Zurich’s head of personal lines broker (pictured above far right), said: “The new partnership is a reflection of the important changes we have made to our personal lines business, as well as our own commitment to investment in charitable causes.”
The CSIS has so far donated some £6,000 to the Stones and provided tracksuits to the under-18s.
Mike Cogger, head of club development, said he was grateful for the insurers’ support. The club was a leader in setting up teams for people with a disability and there were ambitious plans for further development.
