THE Grand Hotel in Folkestone is supporting a community project in the district by offering its function rooms for free.

The venue on The Leas has signed up to the Business 4 People scheme which encourages firms to help voluntary groups and charities with donations in kind including somewhere to meet, the gift of redundant equipment or free advice.

Crossroads, which provides respite care for people looking after a relative or friend at home throughout the Shepway area, will be the first to make the most of The Grand's offer by hosting its management committee meeting there.
